This exhibition FACES which is held at Onassis Cultural Centre in Athens, Greece, explores the estrangement of the individual, caught between the self, the perception of the self, and society, and the feelings of solitude and spiritual alienation that ensue.
Part of a collection project in progress, the exhibition SonicTime, speech/sound/silence brings together fifty five works from the collection of the National Museum of Contemporary Art, which focus on language, sound, music and silence as their common matrix.
"Sean Sully: Doric Order" will be Irish/American artist Sean Scully's first exhibition in Greece. The focus of the show will be six monumental Doric paintings that the artist has been making since 2009. Immense in scale and ambition the paintings have as their genesis the Doric principle which originated in ancient Greece.
