Athens Pride is an all-volunteer, registered non-profit association. It was founded in June 2005, with the first public, all-day LGBT festival and parade in the Historic Center of Athens.
The Athens Pride Festival and Parade takes place every year in early June, in commemoration of the first LGBT uprising at the Stonewall Inn in New York in June 1969. Since 2005, our event has rapidly grown, attracting many thousands of people from all walks of life in Athens, other parts of Greece, Europe, North America and elsewhere.
