Blanos Sports Park (www.blanospark.gr; +30 210-663 5835) Yet another indication of the great things that are available just outside of Athens is this activity complex (one of Attica's largest and just 30km from the city centre and 10 km from the airport) with impressive indoor ice skating rink, 20 bowling lanes, billiard hall, enclosed fun park for kids, restaurant and café-bar.

Go Kart Fun can be had at the popular Go Kart Centre Agios Kosmas (+30 210 98 51 546) on Poseidon Avenue, opposite the old Athens Ellinikon airport and Athens Circuit (+30 22960 25099) a little outside of Athens in Megara.

Indoor and Outdoor Climbing An impressive 14metre x 30 metre wall climbing structure (that can accommodate close to 30 climbers) as well as other adventure apparatus such as the Bungee Trampoline may be found in the suburb of Pallini at The Wall Sport Climbing Center (www.thewall.gr ; +30 210 60 30 093).

The Asteras Glyfadas Complex (www.asterascomplex.com) features giant inflatable trampolines in the water and water polo facilities, while the complex's Balux Sea Side and Asteras Beach Glyfada offer beach bars, music and lounge chairs. Grand Resort Lagonissi (www.lagonissiresort.gr) provides banana tubes and other inflatable water toy fun. Yabanaki (www.yabanaki.gr) has lounge chairs, beach bar and great music; while next door Doit (www.doit-varkiza.gr) beach bar, music and snack bar. Chic, more expensive, and legendary Astir Beach (www.astir-beach.com) features water and sand sports, lounge chairs, shops, cafes and restaurants. Easy to get to by tram Ammos Beach (stop Palaia Loutra Alimou) is popular with teens as is Mojito Bay. Further out towards Sounio in Agia Marina it boasts 3 beach bars, changing rooms, lounge chairs, a volleyball field, live bands on Friday & Saturday, and a DJ on Sundays. Karavi Schinias beach and water sports club (www.karavi.gr; +30 6944361675) 42 kms (26 miles) north-northeast of Athens, near the historical city of Marathon Karavi offers an unparalleled experience for all water-sports and beach-sports enthusiasts as well as for those wishing to just relax in the sun.
Facebook and Twitter friendly: where to get free Wi-Fi Free Wi-Fi access can be found at many cafes in Athens. These include but are not limited to: Costa Coffee and Flocafe (coffee chains with several locations throughout Attica); Balux Café the House Project on the coast, Chocolat in Thiseio, Dell'Arte Café Bar in Gazi, Amada Café near Syntagma and the upstairs café at the bookstore chain Eleftheroudakis on Panepistimou Street. Teen Shopping Teens love to shop. And Athens' varied shopping scene and (Pericleous, Aiolou, Mitropoleos and Ermou Streets) feature hundreds of shops with the latest fashions for teens. Several new malls have opened in just the last few years, an indication of the ever-thriving shopping culture in Athens: The Mall (www.themallathens.gr), located next to the Nerantziotissa train station on the Attiki Odos, houses over 200 different brand name commercial chains, restaurants and cafés, movie theatres and recreational areas. Golden Hall(www.goldenhall.gr), also in Marousi, is a smaller mall focusing more on high-end shopping and dining. 131 national and international commercial fashion brands and elegant restaurants and cafes are here. Next door to Golden Hall, is Avenue(www.avenuemall.gr) with its impressive open-air rooftop. Dance the night away (for youngsters at least 18 years old) When you want to dance, these clubs provide the ideal setting: great music, good looking people and, in the summer, venues with a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean.
