Admiring the Parthenon
Whilst walking along Dionissiou Areopagitou Street you can admire the synthesis of eras, a feature of a city lived in throughout the centuries: modern blocks of flats, neoclassical residencies and the landmark of Athens- the hill of the Acropolis, with the Parthenon and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. Classical finesse, Roman magnificence, post-independence and modern periods are harmoniously combined in an entity which proves that Athens was, and still is, a city very much alive.
