Admiring the Parthenon
Walking along Dionissiou Areopagitou Street one cannot help but notice the synthesis of eras modern blocks of flats, neoclassical residencies and the landmark of Athens- the hill of the Acropolis are harmoniously combined in an entity which proves that Athens was, and still is, a city very much alive. The grandeur of the Parthenon, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and the surrounding monuments are testament to the city's classical finesse, Roman magnificence, post-independence and modern urbanization.
