48 Hour Film Project in Athens
The 48 Hour Film Project comes to Athens on the weekend of 31 October! Filmmakers from all over Greece will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The screenings of the movies will take place at Ster Cinemas on 4 & 5 November. The winning film will go up against films from around the world for the title "Best 48 Hour Film of 2008".
In May 2001, Mark Rupert had the idea to try to make a film in 48 hours. He recruited his filmmaking partner, Liz Langston, and other DC filmmakers to form their own teams and take part in this experiment. The experiment was successful and now, 8 years later and with more than 100 competitions having taken place around the world, the 48 Hour Film Project arrives in Athens.
The Project will run from 31 October until 7 November and aims to embrace high quality productions in order to compete at an international level. During the competition, a lot of happenings, seminars and parties will take place all over Athens.
