2nd Screamin’ Athens Horror Festival
Almost a year to the date since its first and very successful trial debut, terror returns to the city of Athens! The Screamin' Athens Horror Festival, with its head held high and its teeth sharpened, is back - on 5th, 6th and 7th December- at Gagarin205 and promises another three days filled with horror films from all over the world, as well as exhibitions, books, music and humour!
This year's programme includes the screening of 18 films (short, medium and long in length and one documentary); the outstanding dark cabaret theatrical performance of Decay Unlimited (who come to Greece from Spain, France and the USA); the concert of the legendary Marky Ramone (a great fan of horror films); the exhibition of artistic photography from the artist Ryme63, entitled ‘Evil Eyes Within'; a market bazaar of a collection of objects, clothes and CDs; the book series ‘Hell' published by Oxy and lots of music from the group Death Rock Greece!
From distant New Zealand, with the multiple award winning ‘Eel Girl' to the grotesque and surrealist Japanese world of ‘Tokyo Gore Police'; from the extreme cinematic interpretation of the innocent fairy tale of ‘Hansel and Gretel (Butcher's Hill) to the enraged and terrifying world of the Russian, Andrey Iskanov (‘Nails'); from the first mini cinematic production from the creator of the leading magazine on horror, Rue Morgue, (‘The facts in the case of Mr Hollow') to the Mexican murderous secret sign of Cosita Linda, and from the shocking performance of the outstanding ‘The Call of Cthulhu' of H.P. Lovecraft to the Moslem hair-raising exorcism of the Turkish ‘Semum', the horror just keeps on coming...
