13th International Comics Festival at Technopolis
Every year, the Technopolis complex in Gazi is flooded with people attending the International Comics Festival. This year the 13th International Comics Festival, one of Athens' most successful and popular events, will take place January 22-25 at the Technopolis Cultural Centre in the Gazi district. The festival will host exhibitions by Greek and international artists, featuring comic art and other events.
Exhibition - tribute to Russian and Ukrainian Comics
The festival will include an extensive presentation of the Russian and Ukrainian comics scene. Illustrators from Moscow, Kiev and St. Petersburg will make their appearance at this year's festival in a thriving and original exhibition that will feature high-quality drawings and pioneering artistic semiology.
Presentation of Lebanese illustrators - comics artists
We will enjoy a new generation of remarkable and passionate artists from Lebanon. They offer a look at different styles and techniques but share a common ground of intense experiences and an uncertain and turbulent daily life.
Solo exhibition by Mexican illustrator Patricio Betteo
The young and upcoming duplicator artist from the Mexico City will present his breathtaking work. His stories run the gamut from science fiction to everyday pop culture and his art is characterised by the distinctive intense colours and the fascinating drawings.
Other Events
Other events include an exhibition by local artist Leandros, an exhibition of street art and graffiti and a photography exhibition from the American West. There will be music everyday starting at 19:00, as well as a puppet show and many different events and happenings.
