King of flamenco dance Joaquin Cortes at Kallimarmaro Stadium
Joaquin Cortes sets off on a journey of emotions. Under the title Calé, he begins a retrospective of his life and career, registering his influences and his personal experiences. Cortes thus filters the essence of six works he has directed and performed throughout the world over the last 20 years. The flamenco dancer and choreographer has once again put all his heart and soul into this much-anticipated show, set for 14 September at the Kallimarmaro Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.
The world tour of Calé will feature 16 musicians, 10 flamenco dancers and a total of 40 people in accompaniment. The music is clearly flamenco and the impressive stage will explicitly depict the emotions and senses of the artist, making a surprising impact on audiences. He easily lives up to the title of innovative artist who uniquely mixes various rhythms, musical instruments and flamenco dance altogether.
Cortes' new show premiered in Madrid and Barcelona in March and April respectively, shortly before the world premiere at the Beacon Theatre in New York on 14 May. In June, he made appearances in Mexico and on 14 September, Joaquin Cortes the king of flamenco dance, will be at the Kallimarmaro Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.
