Fashion Week Athens
Technopolis of the the City of Athens, in cooperation with the ELKEDE Technology and Design Centre and Q-Productions (Greek Fashion Week production company) will be staging Fashion Week Athens from 22 to 25 October, featuring summer collections for 2010. The event will take place at Technopolis in Gazi, Athens. The event is being sponsored by the City of Athens and professional organisations in the clothing industry, such as SEPEE (Hellenic Fashion Industries Association), SKEE (Hellenic Fashion Industry Association) and ELSEVIE (Hellenic Association of Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters).
FASHION SHOWS
Participants include:
Aslanis, Makis Tselios, Kathy Heyndels, Nikos-Takis, Victoria Kyriakides, Angelos Bratis, Katerina Alexandraki, Dimitri Zafiriou, Lito Barre, Delight, Dimitris Petrou, Samantha Sotos, Vassilia, Giannetos, Ugo Zaldi and Julia Bergovich.
On Sunday, 23 new Greek fashion designers will present their first designs at a group showing titled Next Generation. They will be competing for two separate prizes: a) the right to participate in the International Apparel Federation's competition in November in India and b) a training visit to Zara's design workshops in Spain, sponsored by MTV.

Loukas Alifragis, Arousiak Adamian, Ioanna Daniil, Argyro Diamanti, Manto Zerva, Evangelos Kavathas, Korina Kandyli, Theodosia Kekeli, Eleni Komata, Basia Kont, Katerina Kyrgiovanaki, Carolina Manta, Theodosia Markowitz-Monastiridou, Paraskevi-Vania Megremi, Nikolaos Mitsios, Marina Dousaki and Kelly Moulkioti, Katerina Paschou, Maria Pateli, Sofia-Christina Raditsa, Mariana Rapti, Aella Tsilikopoulou and Stella Flytzani.
The Judges Panel will consist of: Dimitris Dasios (fashion designer); MI-RO (Giannis Raptis & Dimitris Mastrokalos, fashion designers); Vasilis Masselos (IAF president); Elis Kiss (fashion reporter); and Tassos Sofroniou (creative director).
EXHIBITION
An exhibition titled Eponyma (Name Brands) will be presented during Fashion Week Athens at Technopolis. The Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation is preparing a large exhibition titled Endyesthe (Dressing): Toward a Costume Culture Museum, to take place in March 2010 at the Benaki Museum building on Pireos Street. As a preface to the Endyesthe exhibit, the Eponyma show seeks to honour the donors, who are well-known women, as well as certain designers and dressmakers who designed the clothing in the show.
PERFORMANCE-PARTY BILLY THE ARTIST
The closing event of Fashion Week Athens will be an artistic event: a visual arts and musical performance by American visual artist Billy the Artist, who is coming from New York to close Fashion Week with a one-of-a-kind presentation-party. Dress code: White T-shirt.
NIGHT BOUTIQUE
A Night Boutique will be operating during the event at Technopolis where members of the public may buy designer clothing and accessories at bargain prices.
