From 3 December to 28 February, 10 IPTV screens at the airport's Arrivals and Departures, will be displaying a short film produced by the Goulandris Natural History Museum, with images from the Greek nature and messages about the International Year of Biodiversity.

2010 is declared as the International Year of Biodiversity, and the Goulandris Natural History Museum chose to launch its relative actions by cooperating with Athens International Airport, in a joint initiative aiming to enhance awareness on the very important issue of protecting the planet's biological diversity and ecosystems.

Biodiversity embraces all life forms (animals, plants, micro-organisms) and is of immeasurable importance for the continuation of life on the planet, by allowing all organisms to adapt to an ever-changing environment. Loss of biodiversity equals the degradation of the ‘services' provided by ecosystems, such as food production, climate adjustment, and soil fertility.

Using the power of images, this collaboration between the Goulandris Natural History Museum and Athens International Airport, is expected to serve as an important vehicle in the effort to increase environmental awareness among the thousands of airport passengers and visitors, especially with regards to the immense value of biodiversity and the risks created from disturbing it.
