Promising singer Robin McKelle will be appearing for a few nights only at the Half Note Jazz Club in Athens, Greece from 26 March to 1 April. Robin McKelle has an ambitious style that recalls and pays homage to the Big Band sound of the 1940s, creating a playfully erotic atmosphere. Strokes of rhythm and blues reveal her sparkling side, while her ballads are simply gems.

"She gives life to old standards" and "sings with the ease and grace of Ella Fitzgerald and the soul of Sarah Vaughan," is what has been said about McKelle to describe her vocal skills. At first, she faced such rejection that she considered taking a risk and financing the recording of her first album. But then, orchestrator, producer and trumpet player Willie Murillo shared her vision. Together, they presented an album that balanced era and authenticity with her uniqueness.

Robin McKelle studied in the famous jazz programme at the University of Miami before going to Berklee, where she graduated with a degree in music. As a graduate, she first went to L.A. to work doing vocals and then returned to Boston where she formed her own trio, became a member of the Berklee Voice Department and contributed as a soloist to the Boston Pops.
