This exhibition presents the winning study, the five finalist proposals, along with the rest of the submissions in a competition to designing and develop a student housing complex in the Keramikos-Metaxourgio district. At the same time, material related to the area and to student housing will also be presented, along with the results of popular voting. The show is being presented at the Benaki Museum from 26 March to 4 April in Athens, Greece.

The UPTO35 international architectural competition for architects up to age 35 is an initiative of the Oliaros company. The objective was to design student housing in the Keramikos-Metaxourgio district of Athens on property owned by the company at Marathonos 34.

Participants submitted original designs within a specified budget to house 18 university students, with the potential of duplicating the construction on neighbouring properties owned by third parties. The overall aim would be to create a student complex in the area. The competition drew 242 entries from 41 countries.

The judges committee chose five finalists in the first phase of the competition in September 2009, selecting the winning entry at its meeting in January 2010. The winner was "18 steps" by Portuguese architects João Prates Ruivo and Raquel Maria Oliveira, who are based in Greece.
