"Nefés" by Pina Bausch at "Megaron" Athens Concert Hall
Wuppertal dance theatre present a dance performance titled "Nefés" by famous choreographer Pina Bausch in Athens, Greece. This is Bausch's Constantinople: one more step in her poetic wanderings and her universal emotions, with "Nefés," a piece she created in 2003, when the war in Iraq was under way. The performance will be presented at the "Megaron" Athens Concert Hall from 13 to 15 July.
The title of the piece means "breath" in Turkish. It is a dark sketch of Constantinople that nevertheless sings of life: images of the old traditions of Turkish baths, Sufi meditation and whirling dervishes, sensuality and belly dancing - contrasts that make up a fresco of the city, between myth and history, brilliant, bustling, but sad.
Don't miss the Wuppertal dance theatre in a performance titled "Nefés" by Pina Bausch at the "Megaron" Athens Concert Hall from 13 to 15 July.
