Enrique Iglesias live in Athens

Enrique Iglesias will be appearing on the Athinon Arena stage on 24 September as a special guest as part of the first EuroVoice 2010 internet music competition, which will take place on 23 and 24 September with participants from 33 countries. The Latino pop star, who has more than 55 million in album sales and a Grammy award to his name, will be appearing before a Greek audience for the first time. Enrique was born 8 May 1975 in Madrid, Spain. At the age of eight, he moved with his parents to the US. He grew up in a musical environment and from early in his life he began to dream of having his own artistic career. Adopting the name Enrique Martinez in an attempt to disguise his relation to his famous father, Julio, he showed his work to a recording company and signed a contract for his first album.

He achieved success with his first album under his real name, which also included Spanish songs. This album, as well as those that followed, earned him numerous prizes and his reputation travelled around the world. Enrique Iglesias has been involved with the composition of most of his songs; he has worked with Whitney Houston and has sung in four languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
