Dionyssia, Wine Festival

Dionyssia, leading consumer Exhibition of Greek and International wines is ready to open its doors, once again, this year in Athens, Greece. The annual Event is an anticipated occasion for the city's wine lovers and will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 12th and 13th of February (11:00 - 20:00), at the Zappeion Megaro Athens, the classic venue of this Event.

The Exhibition has been already held 3 times at the Zappeion Megaro, which is now "home," to both the renowned exhibitors and thousands of regular visitors to Dionyssia. This year, Exhibition areas provide an especially inviting atmosphere offering bright surroundings and exceptional aesthetics for hosting such an impressive event. They are ideal for wine-tasting, which will surely be enjoyed by the more than 10.000 wine lovers who are expected to visit Dionyssia this year. It is evident from previous wine events that the crisis has not intimidated them; on the contrary, it has increased their willingness to visit wine exhibitions satisfying their interest and love of this product.
In the tradition of Dionyssia, the participation of wineries from all over Greece will be great and will include distilleries and wine importers. This year, more than 120 wineries from all over the country are expected to exhibit their wines. Especially important is the increase in first time exhibitors. These newcomers together with their distinguished colleagues demonstrate the rapid development of Greek wine in the last ten years, which is reflected in the characteristics of Dionyssia. Constantine Stergides, director of Vinetum, the organizing company, says "the Exhibition will be extremely successful this year despite the crisis. Furthermore, he states that "the Greek wineries have adapted to new conditions with new products and lower prices and are enthusiastically expecting visitors to present their products".
Every visitor to the Exhibition will receive a commemorative glass for wine tasting and can freely taste as many wines as he likes, as well as talk to the winemakers themselves and their staff. Included among these wines are some of the best and most expensive bottles produced by Greek vineyard, as well as many new wines from major labels and the global vineyard. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in seminars on wine tasting and presentations on wines, as well as the opportunity to visit the exhibition of wine posters.
The Exhibition ticket costs 10 € and is valid for the 2 days of the Event. Dionyssia 2011 is organised under the auspices of the National Interprofessional Organisation of Vine and Wine (EDOAO).
