18th Athens International Film Festival OPENING NIGHTS

This year, from the 19th until the 30th of September, the capital's favorite cinema institution launches a very promising new collaboration with COSMOTE. Its name changes into Athens International Film Festival Opening Nights COSMOTE while it celebrates its coming of age with 12 days full of cinema and fun in the movie theaters Odeon Opera 1 & 2 (57 Akadimias Street), Danaos 1 & 2 (Kifisias Avenue 109) and Ideal (46 Panepistimiou Street).

The festival aims to bring right in the very heart of the capital the highlights of the current film season. Simultaneously happening events, parties, seminars and of course the most glamorous premieres of the international cinema come straight to your neighborhood through the Athens International Film Festival Opening Nights COSMOTE.

In particular, by having a full movie menu which will include atmospheric films noir, revolutionary romances, legendary classical productions, unexpectedly entertaining cinematographic debuts, alternative narrations, international cutting edge productions, musical surprises, subversive documentaries and cinema suggestions more vibrant than ever, the addictive cinema institution of the city is getting ready to load the town with pictures and colors.

Together with the weekly tour of the festival's younger brother, the Athens Open Air Film Festival, the Athens International Film Festival is looking for those occasions that can, this year too, reveal in the best possible way the splendid autumn motifs of our cinematographic city as well as the connections between cinema and the most topical and urging cultural issues of the current sociopolitical agenda.
