Joaquin Cortes sets off on a journey of emotions. Under the title Calé, he begins a retrospective of his life and career, registering his influences and his personal experiences. Cortes thus filters the essence of six works he has directed and performed throughout the world over the last 20 years. The flamenco dancer and choreographer has once again put all his heart and soul into this much-anticipated show, set for 14 September at the Kallimarmaro Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.
The Panathenaic Stadium or Kallimarmaro was built in 329 BC by the orator and administrator Lycurgus for the athletic competitions of Panathenaia (the major Athenian festival in honor of the patron goddess Athena). In the mid 2nd century AD, the whole stadium was laid out in marble by Herodes Atticus.
