Each year, studios open their doors to visitors, inviting them to follow a trail that brings them closer to the most functional and everyday applied art. A weekend market-party of innovation by local designers, artists, djs and independent businesses will take place 23 and 24 January at Bios in Athens, Greece under one urban roof at the Meet Market. Salseros from all over the world: be prepared for the most amazing show of your lives. Marc Anthony, the most influential artist of his generation, the winner of four Grammy awards and the man who has sold 10 million albums worldwide, will be in Athens for a unique concert from 27 to 29 November, as the 2nd Todo Latino Salsa Festival take places for three consecutive days at the Paleo Faliro (Tae Kwon Do) Sports Pavilion.

Athens Xclusive Designers Week will take place at the Ethniki Asfalistiki Conference Centre from 30 October to 2 November. It is a fashion event presenting an innovative and extensive programme of fashion, business, cultural and social events, allowing visitors to experience the most innovative and engaging creative interaction. A gala and parties, fashion concerts, photo and art exhibitions, charity events and business forums are all part of Athens Xclusive Designers Week.

Technopolis of the the City of Athens, in cooperation with the ELKEDE Technology and Design Centre and Q-Productions (Greek Fashion Week production company) will be staging Fashion Week Athens from 22 to 25 October, featuring summer collections for 2010. The event will take place at Technopolis in Gazi, Athens. The event is being sponsored by the City of Athens and professional organisations in the clothing industry, such as SEPEE (Hellenic Fashion Industries Association), SKEE (Hellenic Fashion Industry Association) and ELSEVIE (Hellenic Association of Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters).

The City of Athens is staging the Athens Digital Week Festival for the second consecutive year. It is set to take place from 14 October to 18 October at Technopolis. The Festival will offer all visitors entertainment and information on outstanding achievements and the potential of the electronic age. Athens Digital Week promises to young and old visitors that this year they will have the opportunity to witness a unique interactive experience. They will also have the opportunity to play, communicate and express themselves through technology.

Art for More is a pioneering international festival dedicated to Art and Mental Health which will take place 9 to 11 October in observance of International Mental Health Day (10 October) at the Art House. Contemporary international works on the theme of "Diversity" and the relation between art and mental health will be featured in three artistic zones: visual arts, cinematic and dramatic, while at the end of each evening, the Art House space will be transformed with an explosive live concert.

The most subversive festival of Athens Greece, the Going Youth Festival, with more than 300 young artists up to age 29, will be coming to Technopolis. Going Youth Festival will welcome artists and audiences from 23 to 27 September for five days of live, alternative and multi-faceted art, including theatre, dance, music, photography exhibitions, visual arts and video art. It will be a festival with the distinct stamp of young people's artistic creativity at Technopolis.

The New Acropolis Museum is set to make its grand entrance into the elite of international museums during a grand opening lasting one week and the grand finale scheduled for 20 June.

Visitors to Technopolis in Athens will be able to learn about the Italian way of life through various arts at the Italia in Piazza 2009 show from 1 to 6 June. For the third consecutive year, the Italian Embassy in Athens is staging a series of events under the title Italia in Piazza 2009 and will include music recitals, films that are part of the first Italian Film Festival, scientific seminars, commercial and cultural events and the presentation of wines and cuisine from various regions of Italy.

The 5th Ecolife, the only general exhibition for organic products, this year is being staged in cooperation with "Technopolis S.A" of the City of Athens and will take place from 28 to 31 May at the Technopolis Entertainment Centre. Companies and ecological organisations from all over Greece will once more exhibit their suggestions for making quality choices in Environment-Friendly Products and Services.

The Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens will celebrate International Museum Day -- and Night -- on 16 and 17 May with a series of events, continuing a tradition begun in 2005 by the museum directorate of the French Ministry of Culture, which coordinates the celebration for Europe. This year's Night at the Museums is being staged under the auspices of the Council of Europe, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and UNESCO. "Museums and Tourism" has been set as the topic for 2009.

After three years in a row, the Vodafone CU 7 Ply Project skateboard art and culture festival has been established as the biggest event held in Greece showcasing all elements of street culture and especially skateboarding. Technopolis in Athens will once again host the festival on 8, 9 and 10 May. Live concerts and dj sets, as well as skateboard contests, will take place on location during the festival, in addition to the skate art exhibition.

The specially designed space at the National Insurance (Ethniki Asfalistiki) Building (at the Intercontinental) will host on 11 April an exciting evening of live DJ sets to accompany an exhibition of new design applications and a display of album covers with a retrofuture aesthetic. All this takes place in 2,000 square metres of stylish elegance.

The 5th Athens Xclusive Designers Week will take place from 3 -6 April at the Conference Centre of Ethniki Asfalistiki. The legendary Vivienne Westwood presents her famous collection. The “Queen” of punk chic, the woman-legend that is considered to be a vital part of Fashion history will be presenting, for the first time, in Greece her collection in the context of the 5th AXDW.

City of Athens Technopolis and Athens Fashion Week Productions are staging Fashion Week Athens for Autumn-Winter 2009/2010, March 26 to 29, at Technopolis in Gazi. Collections will be presented by prominent Greek designers and some promising newcomers. A variety of events and parties will take place during Fashion Week.

The Hellenic American Union, in cooperation with the US Embassy in Athens, presents a lecture by American journalist, activist and author Evelyn C. White. The event is taking place on Tuesday, February 24, at 7 pm, as part of the annual celebration of Black History Month in the US.

The National Institute of Radio Broadcasting, now known as Hellenic Radio, in 2008 celebrated the 70th anniversary of its first transmission. The state-run Hellenic Radio (ERA) 70 years later returns to Zappeion, the spot from where it transmitted its first broadcast, with a large exhibition that recounts the history of radio in Greece. The exhibition will be held from 8 December until 30 January.

The exhibition "Through History with Ikaros" is an imaginary "flight", organized by the Cultural Organization of the City of Athens in collaboration with the S.O.F.I.A Foundation. The rare exhibits of this particular exhibition belong to the Foundation, they are certified by Christie's London, and it is made possible thanks to the support of the Hellenic Air Force General.

Every year, the Technopolis complex in Gazi is flooded with people attending the International Comics Festival. This year the 13th International Comics Festival, one of Athens' most successful and popular events, will take place January 22-25 at the Technopolis Cultural Centre in the Gazi district. The festival will host exhibitions by Greek and international artists, featuring comic art and other events.

Almost a year to the date since its first and very successful trial debut, terror returns to the city of Athens! The Screamin' Athens Horror Festival, with its head held high and its teeth sharpened, is back - on 5th, 6th and 7th December- at Gagarin205 and promises another three days filled with horror films from all over the world, as well as exhibitions, books, music and humour!

On Saturday the 25th of October, people and artists that consider the streets, the parks and the squares of Athens as their natural canvas, are making an organized proposal-invitation to the people of Athens. Artists, theater groups, street performers, musicians, jugglers, acrobats, graffiti artists and many others will take over the streets of Athens and paint them with spectacles, happenings and action.

For the first time,Technopolis in Gazi will host, from the 16th until the 19th of October, the biggest multi-event of technology that has ever been organized in Athens. Technopolis will be transformed into a wonderful interactive experience, offering entertainment and awareness in all the amazing aspects of the digital era. A related event will take place from the 13th until the 19th of October at Syntagma Square, which will be a reference point for Athens Digital Week with special happenings and interactive presentations.

What do they laugh about in Germany? How does the British Humor translate on paper? Which nation hosts the darkest satire? Does the climate of a country play any role in the satire produced? How does the cartoon function as a national mirror? All these questions will be hopefully resolved in the cartoon exhibition "Cartoons in Europe of 27" which will take place in Zappeion-Athens during 13-25 October.

On the18th and the 19th of October, the 4th Meet Market will take place at the E.PA.S.K.T gallery at Plaka (19A, Tholou & Panos st). This collective fair, that is organized on a monthly basis, gathers together a group of Greek and foreign artists, designers and DJ's, and introduces us to their creations. Get ready to meet the talented and creative side of Athens!

The Hellenic Fashion Designers Association is organizing the 8th Greek Fashion Week for Summer 2009, at the Technopolis complex in Gazi. The events start on Tuesday and will run until October 12th.

More than 70 architects, industrial designers, graphic designers, graffiti artists and fashion designers exhibit their ideas for a Green Athens in the heart of the city. From September 10 to October 1, Green Design Festival takes place at Syntagma Square and another 10 spots within the city center, organized under the auspices of the Athens Municipality.

On Saturday, October 4, Athens' cultural center Technopolis opens its gates and welcomes important artists and all funs of hip-hop. The reason is the 1 Athens Hip-Hop Festival, a new institution that aims to induce us into the philosophy of hip-hop.
